Once connected to a container, the Ignition Designer is displayed in the center panel via a remote desktop session (noVNC). You can interact with it as you would a standard Ignition Designer -- creating views, configuring tags, writing scripts, and more.
Copy and Paste with noVNC
Because the Designer runs inside a remote desktop session, copy and paste behaves differently from native applications:
Clipboard panel: To copy paste between local and remote, open the noVNC sidebar by clicking the arrow tab on the left edge of the Designer view. Use the clipboard text area to manually transfer text in either direction.
Some browsers may prompt you to allow clipboard access. Grant the permission for seamless copy-paste.
Switching to the Designer
Click the pencil icon (Designer) in the top navigation bar, or click "Editor" in the side navigation.
Using the Gateway Config View
The Gateway Config view displays the Ignition Gateway web interface, allowing you to manage gateway settings, modules, and connections without leaving the application.
Switching to Gateway Config
Click the globe icon (Gateway Config) in the top navigation bar.
Using the Perspective Preview
The Perspective Preview lets you view and interact with Perspective sessions directly within the application, so you can test your views without opening a separate browser tab.
Switching to Perspective Preview
Click the browser icon (Perspective Preview) in the top navigation bar.
