Machine Registration

What to do in order to register a new machine for use with Axilon

The first time a given machine is used with the Axilon Client, it must be installed and the machine registered. The steps are as follows:

  1. Open the Axilon Client installer EXE

  2. Once the application installs, it will open automatically

  3. On first login, configure the connection settings:

    1. Box URL: Enter the URL of the Axilon webserver (e.g., https://gts.fortressenclaves-dev.com:3000)

    2. Certificate Path (optional): Select the path to root certificates to trust for the Box URL, if using custom or self-signed certificates

    3. Click Submit

  4. Log in when prompted with the seed credentials provided by Axilon or your administrator

    1. You may be asked to reset the password—if you are, do so and save the credentials

    2. Passwords must be more than twelve (12) characters long and contain an uppercase letter, a number, and a special character

  5. Open the Current Machine sub-tab of the machines menu on the left.

  6. Click the Register button on the upper right side of the screen

  7. Fill in the machine registration form:

    1. Name: Enter a descriptive name for the machine, as this will be displayed for all users viewing machine information

    2. IP Address: Enter the IP address of this machine

    3. TCP/UDP Ports: Specify the network ports used by applications that will be failed over on this machine

      • For each port, select the protocol (TCP or UDP) and enter the port number

      • Click the + button to add additional ports as needed

      • Use the trash icon to remove ports

    4. Description: Enter a brief description of the machine's function (minimum 10 characters, maximum 128 characters)

    5. Healthcheck Script (optional): Enter a custom healthcheck script if required for monitoring the machine's status

  8. Click Submit to register the machine

  9. The machine will connect to the Axilon Webserver and install configuration management services automatically

    1. Four (4) services are installed: events, snapshot, main, and restore. Confirm these services are all running before continuing
