# Frontend Application

## Purpose

This application is the interface by which the user interacts with the platform during day to day operations; it governs both configuration management and orchestration operations.

## How It Works

The Axilon frontend application is based on Electron and is thus cross-platform compatible. The application integrates with the configuration adapters via IPC and with the [Orchestrator](#orchestrator) and [Configuration Management Engine](#configuration-management-engine-orchestrator) via REST calls.
